Artistic Awe: The Museum Wedding of Ashleigh and Omar

Zoe Gallina • Apr 22, 2022

Henri Matisse believed “Creativity takes courage,” and when it came to Ashleigh and Omar’s wedding at the Salvador Dalí Museum in St. Petersburg, Florida, the artistry that flourished was a nod to the vivid vision the couple and Botanica pursued without hesitation.

The November 2021 wedding was originally planned for the previous year, but due to the pandemic, it was rescheduled. While it wasn’t ideal at first, conceptualization developed further (actually based on a bed spread pattern!) and an evening of thoughtful design that was truly a reflection of them was created.

Throughout the wedding, floral decor was conceptualized by geometric, silver sculptural pieces mixed with different textures and vibrant colors - the perfect look for an art museum soireé!

Bridesmaids carried unique circular hoops accented with Mokara orchids, freesia, delphinium, roses, anemone, and greenery while Ashleigh boasted a stunning hot pink and purple all-orchid bouquet.

The ceremony altar piece was a modern architectural backdrop featuring bright blooms and tea light candles.

Complementing the ceremony were cubist reception centerpieces that became a floral feat.

Delicate silver structures were to be adorned with flowers and while the elegance and simplicity of the look was outstanding, the creation behind it was challenging! Zoe had to carefully select botanicals that were light and could stay out of water for hours. Needless to say, the selection was quite limited.

But her creative mind didn’t give up.

Creating mini-like corsages, the Botanica team used a multitude of orchids alongside irises, ranunculus, scabiosa, delphinium, and agapanthus for the one-of-a-kind look.

And to top it all off, the beautiful ceremony altar piece was the perfect sweetheart table backdrop.

Not only were Ashleigh and Omar graceful in the rescheduling of their wedding, but also when it came to the creative vision they vowed to bring to life.

We deeply admire their pursuit of artistic expression and are immensely delighted to have been a part of the team to make it happen.
